Executive Pastry Chef, Denise started MORE Sweets as a way to create a new and personal bakery experience. Denise attended the University of California, Davis where she not only earned a B.A. in Art History, but took the trip of lifetime to the South of France for a study abroad program. While she was primarily there to study Art History, she utilized every second she was not in class to try all the pastries and sweets around the local area. Immediately upon returning home, Denise enrolled in culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena. Although she received an Occupational Studies degree in Culinary Arts, her work in the restaurant industry made its way to the sweet side of the kitchen. Working along pastry chefs, Denise decided to move to a bakery and learned the ins and outs of the bakery life. Over time, MORE Sweets quietly began. As a side business, MORE Sweets was a creative outlet Denise could build and structure as her dream bakery.
Ultimately in 2018, Denise completely devoted herself to MORE Sweets. With every second and thought, MORE Sweets quickly began building up its brand and establishing itself as a prominent home bakery in the San Gabriel Valley. Soon MORE Sweets was selling at local Farmer Markets, (Covina, Mt. Sac and San Dimas). Here, Denise and MORE Sweets got to interact with customers on a daily level and built many lasting relationships. Denise ventured into working with local golf courses and other local party venues. This helped kept MORE Sweets busy all 2019.
